Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all our program and activities are on hold through at least the end of April. We will resume our normal schedule of hikes and programs as soon as possible. Environmental Film Series: Biggest Little Farm- Sunday, April 19th, at 3:00 PM (This program has been postponed until further notice) @ the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library. Biggest Little Farm chronicles a couple who trade city living for 200 acres of barren farm land and a dream to harvest in harmony with nature.
Earth Day Volunteer Clean Up- Wednesday, April 22nd Noon to 2:00 PM @ Bloomerside Preserve - Parking at the School Track- Sign ups recommended. This is part of Great Global Cleanup Week and celebration of Earth Day.
Spring Ephemeral Wildflowers/Mother's Day Hike - Sunday, May 10th at 2:00 PM @ Weil Preserve -- Bring mom for a regenerative one mile hike to find spring ephemerals such as trout lily, marsh-marigold, red trillium, Jack-in-the-pulpit, hepaticas, bloodroot, Dutchman's breeches, rue anemone, spring beauty, and more. We may even be treated to spring peepers, wood frogs, turtles and who knows what as we explore wetlands and uplands at our Weil Preserve.
Breakfast with the Bobolinks - Sunday, June 14th at 10am @ Hayfield on Keeler - Join NSOLF for a short hike to the top of Hayfield on Keeler to see dozens of nesting Bobolinks flying and calling to each other. This is one of the few places to witness this in all of Westchester County. Our walk is preceded by a delicious breakfast in the field. Please join us.
